BOLIVIA!!!!!!

Hey Everyone!

We have had something pretty big come up! New Tribes Mission in Bolivia has a crisis situation and to sum things up there is nobody available to run the mission guest house in Santa Cruz. NTM leadership called us two days ago and asked us whether we would be willing to go run the guest house until another couple comes back from furlough in about a year. We have prayed about this and believe that this is an answer to our prayers in many ways. We will be packing up our things and moving to Bolivia as soon as possible!!!!

We have submitted our two week notices to our jobs and are now really going to be relying on the Lord for finances! We have our tickets paid to get down there and then, that’s pretty much it! It’s a huge step of faith for us!

Our future plans are still the same, just with a little year long break. We plan on RETURNING here to Bible School in the fall of 2011 for Andy to finish up his Junior and Senior semesters. We are definitely surprised and a little overwhelmed by this and are busy trying to get together everything we need for our year as stand-in missionaries. We will miss it here but are excited for this opportunity the Lord has given us! It is crazy to say it now but I truly believe that God has been preparing our hearts for this for a long time and honestly we are thrilled to be a blessing! Please keep us in your prayers as we take on these new responsibilities. I’ll keep you guys posted on how things are going!

Our job responsibility would be to manage the NTM guest home in Santa Cruz. This would involve:
- Scheduling and supervising the placing of missionaries in guest rooms while they’re in town.
- Scheduling and supervising the cleaning of the facilities
- Scheduling and supervising the maintaining of the facilities and yard
- Pay the monthly bills, pick up mail and handle guestroom charges
- Establish and cultivate relationships with the missionaries so they will be an encouragement to them
- Picking up missionaries from the airport
- Be available to help the missionaries when they come to town (medical, dental, shopping, etc)
- Possibly helping out with legal work (submitting paperwork) as time permits
- Investing time each day in culture and language acquisition
- Attendance and involvement in a local church
